Reviews

"I loved this story! The idea is fresh, the characters real. I finished it in a day because I could not put this book down! I cannot wait for the next book and to see how this story unfolds" - Lady Vampyrss, TheStoryGraph Review

"Words cannot describe the emotions I went through in this book. I shared in the character's confusion, anger, anxiety, interest, and basically all of their emotions.

I love the magic system and the take on reincarnation was a personal favorite.

I loved watching the the characters show their softer and unseen sides. I am looking forward to the rest of the books as I cannot wait to watch these character's grow.

My only criticism is that I wish that the magic language could be translated or explained to us, but at the same time I understand keeping the readers in the dark about what it means because we then get to learn as they learn.

This is a brilliant debut book and I am excited to learn more about this world and I look foward to truly understanding all of the characters!"

"Riyati Rebirth is a wonderfully well-written dark contemporary fantasy novel about magical girls. What more could you ask for?

One of the strongest wins for the novel that I'd like to highlight is the dialogue and flow of conversations. The characters reflect their age in their speech and mannerisms--the highschool-aged characters sound like actual highschoolers, but not in the sense of "How do you do, fellow kids?" and it's a breath of fresh air for the genre. Speaking of, this is decidedly not a YA novel--read with an eye toward its intended audience being adults!

All in all, I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a new series to dig into. If you like Sailor Moon but wish it was more like Puella Magi Madoka Magica, you don't want to miss this!
